Kalimba Reptile Park Lusaka

Kalimba Reptile Park is an ideal place for a leisurely day or afternoon trip whilst you are living in Lusaka. It is about half an hour's drive from Lusaka. The road there is a bit bumpy in places, but is usually accessible if you do not have a four wheel drive vehicle, except for maybe at the height of the rainy season. There are a wide range of indigenous snakes, tortoise and other reptiles to view, alongside several lakes full to bursting with crocodiles of various shapes and sizes. The park breeds crocodiles and it is fascinating to view these creatures close up, both in and out of the water.
The park also has several other attractions a crazy golf course, a swimming pool, trampoline, pool table and table tennis to name a few. The grounds are pleasant and well laid out and there are braii's available for use if you want to cook your own food. There are also refreshments available to buy - either for consumption on site, or to take away. Where else can you buy a crocodile burger locally?!! The Kalimba Park Farm Shop is well worth a look and stocks a variety of fresh and frozen produce. There is also a small gift shop on the site. (For a wider range of gifts you could visit the Kabwata Cultural Village).
The information provided on the wide range of reptiles in the park is clear and well presented. All in all this is a very interesting and pleasant place to visit and well worth a visit.
